TBSS Cyber Crob

Friday night TBSS had a fantastic cyber crop
there were 3 challenges, each set by a DT member and a fun filled night in the forum playing games, including one that had me doing the mad dash around my house madly like a headless chook collecting all sorts of products and items to photograph and upload quick to win... wasnt quick enough for that one but! I did manage to spill the whole container or buttons across the lounge room floor though and spent most of saturday morning finding odd ones in strange places! lol
I spent the evening snuggled up on the couch under a doona with the laptop and the heater on (which had a gas leak - another story!) laughing, giggling and having a great time.
The way they run their cyber crops is so cool.
The challenges are set on the Friday night while the games are being played but there's no stress on getting them done on the night. They are to be completed at your own leisure during the entire weekend and uploaded into their gallery by Sunday 9pm.
The winners are announced Monday evenings and the prizes, omg they are awesome!
Each challenge has a $20 store voucher up for grabs
there's a door prize just for registering yourself as being there, this cyber crop they gave away a big tote on wheels, big enough to hold 6 albums!
and the games throughout the night are worth points, the winner with the most points gets a $20 store voucher too!
so you spend the night in one thread laughing, playing games and chatting as the refresh button gets clicked 500 times, no need for the confusion of which thread to chat in next!
The challenges were nice and easy yet good fun and challenging all the same
these are my challenge items
challenge #1
all I had on my table was the bin, my tool box and the buttons container...
Challenge #2
this was fun to follow instructions! even though I managed to bugger it up... lol

Life reveals her beauty one precious miracle at a time

This layout is for the quote challenge #10 at TBSS

'life reveals her beauty one precious miracle at a time'

I couldn't resist using an ultrasound pic of my precious miracle with this quote and the Crate Paper Kaitlin range jumped out the pile at me

I wanted to create a beautiful layout to match the quote and I'd seen a beautiful layout by Linda Ola with stitching as a background feature and loved the effect. So I thought I would give it a go!

the hand stitching took me HOURS... after marking it all out on the back, pearcing each hole and cursing myself for starting something I thought would take a week to complete... I sat myself on the couch with a doona over my legs, TV on a lovey dovey chick flick and stitched away like a little ole grandma!

and these Prima Flowers from the Belle Fleur range are so pretty and delicate, a perfect match for pinks in the Kaitlin papers.

I used cotton white stazon ink to stamp cute See D's flourishes to create unique embelishments and the Crate Paper chipboard alpabet I used for title has been lightly sanded on the edges to soften them and a good generous coating of dimentional magic to give them a nice glossy look

This scan was taken at 20 weeks and now my baby girl is nearly 13... you can see in this shot she was going to be a thumb sucker and that she was. It still amazes me how we can get photos of our precious miracles even before they are born.

Finishing off this page with cute Kaiser pearls in the centres of the flowers and pink gem stones at the cross points of the stitchings

Seth & Caleb's first day school

This layout is for the weekly challenge #14 at TBSS
'Negative Space' and to include flourishes, brads and gemstones
I chose to do a digital layout for this weeks challenge using mostly a kit from Andrea Burns and using a pic of my gorgeous friend with her twin boys on their first day of school
aint they cute??? yeah Shell you are too... LOL

I love how digi scrapping can look so realistic

when you enlarge these pics you will see the texture of these flowers is furry and these brackets have a rough painted wood surface

If I had these physical products in my stash I would have created this layout for my album

and those green gemstone brads, omg... I love em! I so wish I had them in my stash!

even the ribbons have the look! the topside and the underside, the fabric texture and the same prettiness as the real thing. And the little tufts of fibres in the background... so cute

And then there's the gorgeous photo!

I so wish I could have been there for the boys big day, they look so cute in their matching outfits all ready for a big day

So Cool

This layout is for the scraplift challenge #10 at TBSS
The layout I chose from Shell's gallery to scraplift was 'chewy'
click here to see the original
I have used papers from the dozer skateboarder collection made by Glitz along with white bazzill cardstocks, tim holtz vintage photo ink, prima essentials flowers, creative imaginations rub ons, pebbles inc chalks, buttons, cottons, black marker pen and dimentional magic

I like to add flowers too pretty much all my work, boy or girl layouts, they dont escape flowers!

with boy layouts I tend to boyafy them slightly, on this one I have added some cute screw top rub ons as centres

arn't these prima essential flowers gorgeous? these are the 'angelique' ones, I just love the colours!

I have used double layers of 3d foam to add extra height to the top photo

the title has been freehand drawn and handcut from bazzill cardstock, lightly chalked and inked before roughing it up a little, coating with dimentional magic and used 3d foam to add to the layout

I used the same techniques that I used on the title with the journalling strips

using buttons as embelishments looks really cool when they are stitched to the page

using a contrasting colour helps make them stand out

CLUSTERS
time to bunch it all up...
your item must also include:
gemstones
lace
something PINK

I started out wanting to use the Making Memories Noteworthy papers with this photo of my daughter. The blues in her shirt screamed this paper. And with the sour sad look on her face I felt it needed bling, some pretty flowers and a girly look so lace sprung to mind. This challenge was summing up perfectly!

A cluster? The main challenge component, so a cluster of flowers with clusters of gemstones for centers sounded good... Then I remembered the 'something pink' part! oops! so out came the Prima Got flowers and little pink ribbon bows!

The gemstone flourishes were created using dimentional magic and placing each stone with a pair of tweezers into place! very simple to do, yes somewhat time consuming but the end result is dazzling. White dotted flourish stems give the illusion of depth

I also wanted to mention too that I have used some awesome digi products from several online sights to create the look, header and graphics etc for my blog. (links to their stores are on the right there) I know some designers are funny bout getting credit where credit due if I missed you, sorry, I didnt do it on purpose. love ya work or else i wouldnt be usin it hey?

thanks for your time,

chat soon, Luv Nat xx

what did we do before the internet?
I have no idea!
I was without the net all day yesterday, stuck at home with no internet!
I found I was bored.
Just bored! bored, bored bored!
the computer was just too boring to play on, I did manage a digital layout though!
My eyes started to water from staring at the screen all bored so I moved on to the housework!
yeah that is how boring it is without the internet!
Lets just say the washing pile is now all done!
then I layed on the couch and watched a movie! and what a crap movie it was! nearly fell asleep
so... brings me back to the question, what did we do before the internet?

this is the digi layout I played with while netless
I used 8 different kits from 3 different digi sites to get this one together!
The photo was taken at Perth Zoo. This bench with the gorilla mum and baby statue is near the front gate and every time we go, the kids perch up ther next to her for another photo.
